Covid 19 Updates - 4th May 2020

Dear Clients

We have been closely monitoring the situation with Covid-19. The health and wellbeing of our clients, patients and staff is our number one priority.

Due to the unprecedented measures advised by the Government, we have been advised by the RCVS that we should currently only see emergency appointments.

We are therefore introducing the following measures:

Emergency Appointments

  • Appointments must be made over the telephone by calling 01932 858890. Please confirm on the call that you do not have the symptoms of Covid-19 and are not in contact with anyone with the symptoms.
  • If you are unsure whether your pet’s symptoms constitute an emergency, please phone for advice.
  • On arrival at the practice please stay in your car, or in the car park. We will notify you when the vet is ready to see you.
  • Only one person to enter the practice for each appointment. Therefore, please only send one family member in with your pet.
  • Please limit your time in the waiting area, and maintain at least 6 feet / 2 metres of space between other pet owners and staff in common areas.

Food & Drug Orders

  • Orders can be made over the telephone, with payment being taken in advance if possible.
  • On collection, we will bring the medication or food into the car park and place it two metres from your car.

If you are in self-isolation or do not wish to visit the practice, videos of worrying symptoms can be sent to our email stgeorgesveterinarycentre@gmail.com. The vet will review and a telephone consult will be arranged.

All other assistance will be provided via telephone advice.

Our opening hours will remain 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12 noon on Saturday.

At present our Out of Hours Emergency provider “North Surrey Veterinary Emergencies” continues to operate. We will notify you of any changes in this service.

The team and I are devastated that we need to interrupt our usual service for our dear clients and patients, but I know you will appreciate these factors are beyond our control and these measures are mandatory. Thank you for your understanding.

We are following the government’s most recent advice to help control the spread of COVID-19.

With my warmest thoughts and wishes at this incredibly worrying time.

Dr Emily Thomson-Gamble
